Advanced Diploma in Natural Cosmetic Skincare Formulation

take your existing formulating knowledge far beyond the lab, as you learn practical skincare formulation skills we have to share with you as professional therapists

available for enrolment late 2021

Our Advanced Diploma in Natural Cosmetic Skincare Formulation course is best suited to our Foundation Diploma graduates, and those who have previous experience in skincare formulation & making natural & organic skincare products from other course providers, to extend their learning into advanced formulating techniques and performance ingredients, across the four-core cosmetic skincare product families: emulsions, anhydrous formulas, gels, and surfactant-based products.

As therapists, we share our hands-on knowledge gained through years of professional therapy practice. We have written this course to provide you with the formulation skills and inspiration to create new, and exciting bespoke skincare for your particular niche market, and specialist application. We take your existing formulating knowledge far beyond the lab, as you learn the skills we have to share as professional therapists, helping you to identify your niche market, and meet the needs of your customers by understanding the skin to an advanced level.

Applied Learning through skincare range building

Throughout the course, our students are creating a range of skincare; products formulated by them, applying the knowledge and skills learnt from the lessons of the course. Our lessons show example recipes, explanation & demonstrating of formulation skills and the practical aspects of producing natural & organic skincare.

Students are required to create their own products to include in their range, for submission in the final assessments. Formulating and producing real-world examples of products that are used for specific skincare requirements, helps reinforce the knowledge learnt on the course. It also allows students to be creative, whilst working within safe and responsible parameters.

Product range building is a key element of the Purodem courses. At the beginning it is integrated throughout the modules of the Foundation Diploma, and this concept continues into the Advanced Diploma, where we look in more depth and specific skincare needs, product types, and taking your product ranges to market. We think that this approach provides our students with a purpose to develop their portfolio of skills and knowledge, with each lesson unlocking a new level of understanding and inspiration for the practice of making clean, natural and organic skin-wellness.

I attended a 4-day course with Purodem in January 2020, to learn how to make skincare products for my beauty salon and facial therapy clients. Using the skills Deana showed and explained to me I have since put together a small range of cleansers & moisturiser creams that I now use in my facial treatments. This has saved me money by being able to cut back on buying from suppliers, and still offering a great service to my clients. They all love that I can now tailor make creams for their individual needs.
