Summary
These Terms and Conditions explain how Purodem Ltd provides its online courses, CPD courses, digital content, physical products, and related services through www.purodem.com and the Purodem Academy platform.
They cover important information about enrolment, payments, instalment plans, cancellations, refunds, access, intellectual property, user conduct, and account management.
By enrolling on a course or CPD course, purchasing digital content or products, or using our website or learning platform, you agree to these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any clearly referenced course-specific information published on our Site.
Please read these Terms carefully before purchasing or enrolling, as they explain both your rights and responsibilities.
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of all websites and online services operated by Purodem Ltd, including but not limited to www.purodem.com, academy.purodem.com, and any associated sub-domains, learning environments, platforms, or future digital properties operated under the Purodem name or brand (together, the “Site” or “Platform”).
Purodem Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 8774736.
Registered office: 269 Farnborough Road, Farnborough, Hampshire, GU14 7LY, United Kingdom.
By accessing our Site, purchasing a course or CPD course, or using any part of our Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any other clearly identified policies or course-specific information expressly referred to on our Site.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our Site, Platform, or services.
2. Definitions and Interpretation
In these Terms:
Course(s) means any online training, CPD course, tutorial, workshop, educational programme, or learning experience provided by Purodem.
Course Materials means written, visual, audio, video, recorded, downloadable, or online learning materials supplied in connection with a Course.
Course Specification means the description, outline, structure, access period, support level, and any stated requirements or features of a Course as published on our Site at the time of purchase.
Course Tutor means a tutor, assessor, mentor, or representative appointed by Purodem to provide teaching, support, assessment, or feedback.
Digital Content means data produced and supplied in digital form, including downloadable files, videos, templates, resources, recordings, worksheets, and online materials.
Product(s) means any physical item, kit, or goods sold or supplied by Purodem.
Payment Plan means an agreed instalment arrangement under which a Course or other purchase is paid for over time.
Enrolment means the process of registering for a Course, including payment and acceptance by Purodem. Enrolment is only complete once payment has been successfully received, or the first instalment has cleared, and confirmation has been issued.
Cooling-off period means the cancellation period available under applicable consumer law.
Confidential Information means non-public, proprietary, or confidential information relating to Purodem, including course content, systems, teaching methods, tutor communications, business materials, and intellectual property.
User, you, and your mean any person accessing or using our Site, Platform, Courses, Products, or services.
Platform means the Purodem website, Academy, and associated digital learning systems used to deliver our services.
References to legislation include that legislation as amended, extended, or re-enacted from time to time.
3. Scope of Agreement
These Terms apply to all users of the Site and Platform, including purchasers of Courses, CPD courses, Digital Content, Products, and other services provided by Purodem.
Any order confirmation, enrolment form, course-specific information, or other document expressly incorporated into the purchase process forms part of these Terms.
No other terms shall apply unless expressly agreed by Purodem in writing.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, business practices, or applicable law. Where we do so, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Where changes are material, we may also notify you by email or through the Platform.
It is your responsibility to review the Terms periodically. By continuing to use the Site or Platform after updated Terms are published, you will be taken to have accepted the updated Terms to the extent that the changes apply to future use of the Site or are otherwise permitted by law.
4. Eligibility and Account Registration
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, enrol on a Course, CPD course, or make a purchase.
You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and up to date.
You are also responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login details and for all activity carried out through your account.
You must not share your login credentials with any other person or allow unauthorised access to your account.
Purodem may suspend, restrict, or close an account where we reasonably believe there has been misuse, unauthorised access, breach of these Terms, non-payment, or use beyond the permitted access period.
5. Description of Services
Purodem provides online education and training, including longer-form courses and CPD courses, in holistic formulation, aromatherapy, skincare, and related disciplines, together with supporting resources, products, and student support services.
Our Courses are educational in nature. Unless expressly stated otherwise, they do not confer a regulated qualification, licence to practise, or guaranteed professional outcome.
We do not guarantee that any user will achieve a particular result, income level, business outcome, recognition outcome, or professional opportunity through use of our Courses, Products, or services.
We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill.
We may make reasonable changes to Courses, Course Materials, release schedules, tutors, learning activities, or platform delivery methods where necessary to improve quality, reflect legal or regulatory updates, maintain educational standards, address operational requirements, or improve the learner experience. Any such changes will not materially deprive you of the core benefit of the Course purchased.
Where a Course includes deadlines, attendance requirements, case studies, assignments, assessments, or other time-sensitive elements, you are responsible for completing and submitting these within the stated timeframes.
Late submissions may be refused, capped, deferred, or subject to a reasonable administrative charge where additional handling is required.
5.1 External Recognition
From time to time, Purodem may offer courses or CPD courses that are recognised, endorsed, or supported by third-party organisations. Where this applies, details will be stated on the relevant course page.
Any such recognition is granted and controlled by the relevant third party, not by Purodem.
Third-party recognition may change, be suspended, or be withdrawn at any time by the relevant organisation.
6. Payments and Instalment Plans
All prices are stated in pounds sterling (£ GBP) unless otherwise stated.
Payment is due in full at the time of purchase unless a Payment Plan is offered and selected.
Where a Payment Plan applies, the first payment is taken immediately and the remaining instalments are due automatically on the agreed dates.
Enrolment is not complete until the first payment has been successfully received and confirmation has been issued by Purodem.
By choosing a Payment Plan, you agree that:
- you are entering into a commitment to pay the full Course fee, subject to any applicable cancellation rights under law or these Terms;
- missed attendance, lack of participation, withdrawal, or failure to complete the Course does not release you from the remaining payments due under the agreed payment plan;
- Purodem may suspend access if payments are overdue; and
- we may take reasonable steps to recover unpaid sums.
If instalments remain unpaid for an extended period, Purodem may require the outstanding balance to be cleared before access is restored.
You are responsible for ensuring that your payment details remain valid and up to date for the duration of any instalment arrangement.
Accepted payment methods may include major debit or credit cards, PayPal, and any other payment methods shown at checkout. Bank transfer may be accepted by prior arrangement only.
6.1 Enrolment Completion and Conditional Access
Where access to Course Materials is granted before the full Course fee has been paid, that access is conditional on your continued compliance with the agreed Payment Plan.
If an instalment payment fails, is cancelled, reversed, or remains unpaid after its due date, Purodem may suspend access to some or all course content until the account is brought up to date.
Certificates, final completion status, and any other completion-related benefits will only be issued once all sums due have been paid in full.
6.2 Credit and Financing Options
If you choose to use a third-party finance or payment provider, such as Klarna, Clearpay, PayPal Credit, or Stripe instalments, your payment arrangement with that provider does not remove your contractual obligations to Purodem unless your purchase is lawfully cancelled or refunded.
Where a chargeback, payment reversal, or payment dispute is raised, Purodem may suspend access while the matter is investigated and until payment is resolved.
6.3 Administrative and Reinstatement Fees
Where manual recovery, account review, reinstatement, or reactivation work is required because of missed payments or failed payment arrangements, Purodem may charge a reasonable administrative fee of up to £35 to reflect the costs incurred.
Any such fee will be notified before reinstatement takes place.
6.4 Recovery of Outstanding Fees
Purodem reserves the right to recover unpaid fees and any reasonable costs incurred in doing so, including administrative, legal, or debt recovery costs where legally recoverable.
Persistent non-payment may result in suspension or permanent withdrawal of access and, where appropriate, further recovery action.
6.5 Price Changes and Errors
We reserve the right to change prices at any time before a purchase is completed.
If a genuine pricing, technical, or typographical error has occurred, Purodem is not obliged to honour the incorrect price and may cancel the affected order and issue a refund where appropriate.
Nothing in this clause affects your statutory rights.
6.6 Access Periods
Access to each Course, CPD course, or Digital Content is provided for the period stated on the relevant course page, checkout page, or Course Specification at the time of purchase. Unless expressly stated otherwise, access does not continue indefinitely. Once the stated access period ends, Purodem may remove or restrict access without further notice.
6.7 Certificates and Completion Records
Any certificate, completion record, or similar document is issued only where applicable to the relevant Course or CPD course and only once all stated completion requirements and all payment obligations have been met.
7. Cancellations and Refunds
Your cancellation and refund rights will depend on the nature of what you have purchased and the circumstances of the purchase.
Where consumer law gives you a right to cancel during a cooling-off period, you may exercise that right by contacting us within the applicable period.
Where a Course, CPD course, or Digital Content includes immediate access to online materials, lessons, downloads, recordings, resources, or other digital content, and you have accessed any part of that content, refunds will not be given except where required by law.
Where tutor support, marking, assessment, live teaching, or other service elements form part of the purchase and delivery has already begun, any refund request will be assessed by reference to the extent of the service already supplied and your legal rights.
For the purposes of these Terms, a Course, CPD course, Product, Digital Content, or service will only be treated as misdescribed where it materially differs from the core description expressly stated by Purodem at the time of purchase, such as the course title, stated format, core subject matter, stated access period, expressly listed inclusions, or any specific feature clearly set out in the relevant course page, checkout information, or order confirmation. It does not include dissatisfaction based on personal expectation, learning pace, subjective opinion, preference, business outcome, accreditation outcome, or a customer’s assumption about content or results where that was not expressly stated by Purodem.
If you purchase physical Products, you may have cancellation rights under applicable consumer law, subject to any lawful exceptions. Returned Products must usually be unused and in resalable condition unless faulty.
Except where required by law, refunds are not generally available for:
- services already fully performed;
- Courses, CPD courses, or Digital Content where access to any digital materials, lessons, downloads, recordings, or resources has begun;
- missed sessions, non-attendance, or failure to complete a Course; and
- extended, paused, deferred, or transferred Courses where administrative arrangements have already been made.
Nothing in these Terms limits your legal rights if a Course, Product, Digital Content, or service is faulty, not provided with reasonable care and skill, or materially different from the description expressly provided by Purodem at the time of purchase.
To request cancellation, please Contact Us and include your name, order reference, and details of the purchase.
Any refund due will be made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
8. Confidentiality and Intellectual Property
All Course Materials, Digital Content, teaching frameworks, assessments, resources, recordings, branding, and other content supplied by Purodem remain the intellectual property of Purodem Ltd or its licensors unless otherwise stated.
When you purchase or enrol, you are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the relevant materials for your own private study and learning only.
You must not, without our prior written permission:
- copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, or distribute Course Materials;
- modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works from our content;
- share account access or downloadable resources with others;
- record, copy, download, screen capture, share, upload, or redistribute any live or recorded teaching sessions except where Purodem has expressly made such functionality available for your personal use; or
- resell, teach, license, or incorporate our materials into your own courses, training, products, or commercial services.
You agree to keep Confidential Information private and not disclose it except where disclosure is required by law.
9. User Conduct and Communication
You agree to use the Site and Platform lawfully, respectfully, and in a way that does not interfere with the rights of others or the proper operation of our services.
You must not:
- impersonate any person or entity;
- upload or transmit malicious code, malware, or harmful material;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, account, or data;
- harvest, scrape, or collect data from the Site without permission;
- use the Platform for unlawful, abusive, defamatory, or commercial purposes not authorised by Purodem; or
- use the Platform to promote your own services, training, products, or third-party offers without permission.
You agree to communicate respectfully with tutors, staff, and other learners and to follow any student communication guidelines published by Purodem.
Purodem may, acting reasonably, monitor or moderate community areas, comments, groups, forums, or discussions, remove inappropriate content, and suspend or restrict access where these standards are breached.
Serious or repeated breaches may result in suspension or termination without refund, subject to your legal rights.
10. Tutor Support
Where a Course includes tutor support, guidance, marking, or feedback, the level and scope of that support will be as described in the relevant Course Specification.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, enrolment does not include unlimited one-to-one mentoring, on-demand responses, or bespoke consultancy.
You agree to communicate courteously and in line with the support arrangements stated for the Course.
11. Technical Access and Downtime
Purodem aims to maintain reliable access to the Site and Platform, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability at all times.
From time to time, access may be affected by maintenance, upgrades, technical issues, third-party platform outages, or events outside our control.
Where reasonably possible, we will provide advance notice of planned downtime.
We are not responsible for access problems caused by your own device, internet connection, browser, software, or security settings.
Nothing in this clause affects your legal rights where Digital Content or services are not provided as required by law.
12. Earnings Disclaimer
Purodem’s Courses, Products, and Digital Content are educational and informational only.
We do not represent or guarantee that you will achieve any particular income, business success, professional outcome, recognition result, or professional status by purchasing or using our services.
Any examples, case studies, testimonials, or success stories are illustrative only and do not guarantee that your results will be the same.
Your outcomes will depend on a range of factors including your own effort, background, experience, market conditions, and decisions made outside our control.
13. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- breach of rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under consumer law.
Subject to the above, Purodem is responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not liable for:
- losses that were not foreseeable;
- business losses suffered by Consumers, including loss of profit, loss of business, loss of commercial opportunity, or business interruption;
- losses caused by your failure to follow guidance, safety instructions, course requirements, or applicable laws and regulations; or
- losses caused by events outside our reasonable control.
Where lawful, our total liability in relation to any one purchase or claim shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the relevant Course, Product, or service giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in this clause affects your statutory rights in relation to services, products, or Digital Content that are faulty, not as described, or not supplied with reasonable care and skill.
13.1 Health Disclaimer
All information, education, instruction, and materials provided by Purodem are for educational purposes only.
Nothing on our Site, in our Courses, in our Products, or in our Digital Content constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing advice, or a substitute for professional healthcare, legal, regulatory, or safety advice.
You are responsible for ensuring that any use of essential oils, ingredients, botanicals, formulations, or related materials is appropriate, lawful, and safe within your own circumstances, country, and scope of practice.
Purodem is not responsible for losses, adverse reactions, or claims arising from the independent practical use, manufacture, recommendation, sale, or application of information beyond the educational context, including any use on clients, customers, patients, or members of the public, particularly where professional advice, patch testing, regulatory checks, or safety procedures have not been followed.
14. Data Handling and Account Management
We collect, use, store, and process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law and our Privacy Policy.
We process personal data for purposes such as account creation, enrolment, course delivery, learner support, payment administration, certification, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and communications connected with your purchase or account.
Depending on the purpose, we may rely on different lawful bases, including performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and legitimate interests. Where consent is used, it will be requested separately where required.
You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and up to date.
You must not share your account access with any other person.
If you request deletion of your account or personal data, we will handle the request in accordance with applicable law. In some cases, we may need to retain certain information for legal, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, evidential, administrative, certification, or record-keeping purposes.
Deletion of an account may result in the loss of access to course history, progress records, certificates, or purchased content where continued retention or access is not required or not technically possible.
Further information about how we collect, use, retain, and protect personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
15. Force Majeure
Purodem Ltd will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where that failure or delay results from events outside its reasonable control.
These may include, without limitation, natural disasters, fire, flood, severe weather, pandemic, epidemic, illness or incapacity of key teaching staff, war, terrorism, industrial disputes, civil unrest, power failures, cyber incidents, or failure of internet, hosting, or communication systems.
Where reasonably possible, Purodem will take practical steps to reduce disruption, including rescheduling, postponing, replacing tutors, or adapting delivery methods.
Temporary suspension, delay, or reasonable modification in such circumstances will not normally entitle you to a refund, provided that the Course or service continues to be delivered substantially as intended once circumstances permit.
16. Your Liability
You are responsible for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage suffered by Purodem as a result of your breach of these Terms, unlawful misuse of the Platform, unauthorised sharing of content or access, or infringement of Purodem’s intellectual property rights.
This clause does not require you to compensate Purodem for losses that are not caused by your actions or that are not reasonably connected to your breach.
17. Termination
Purodem may suspend or terminate your access to the Site, Platform, Course, or related services where you:
- seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms;
- fail to make payments due;
- misuse the Platform;
- infringe intellectual property rights; or
- engage in abusive, unlawful, or disruptive conduct.
Purodem may, where appropriate, suspend access first and allow an opportunity to remedy the issue before terminating permanently, but is not obliged to do so in cases of serious breach, non-payment, misuse of content, or unlawful conduct.
If your access is terminated, all rights granted to you under these Terms will end immediately, except for any provisions that by their nature are intended to survive termination, including those relating to intellectual property, confidentiality, liability, payment obligations, and governing law.
Termination does not affect any right to recover outstanding sums already due.
18. No Waiver
If Purodem delays or does not immediately enforce any part of these Terms, that does not mean we waive our right to enforce that part or any other part later.
19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living in England or Wales, you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK in which you live.
If you are a business customer, the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction unless otherwise agreed in writing.
